Injuries to Shaffer, Moore cloud left side of line

FLOWERY BRANCH - Though Kevin Shaffer has a strained knee ligament, the Atlanta Falcons decided Tuesday to see if the starting left tackle can play with the injury rather than find an immediate replacement.

Shaffer left the 21-19 season-opening victory Sunday at San Francisco after injuring his right medial collateral ligament in the fourth quarter and could not return. It's doubtful he will dress Wednesday when the Falcons return to practice and install their game plan for this week's game against St. Louis. The left side of the line is in flux.
