Born in Edmond, Oklahoma
on May 10, 1987, Etukeren comes from a high-achievement academic family. His two brothers went to Stanford
and Arizona State
, respectively, and his sister attended Arizona
. Etukeren carried a 3.33 cumulative grade-point average in operations management, with minors in marketing and theology.
Of course, the Falcons are interested in his on-field attributes. In 2008, Etukeren was named to the All-patriot League second team after putting up 13 tackles for loss and 4.5 sacks. He's a high-character guy who stuck with the Hoyas through tough times, and he could be rewarded as one of those small-school players that capture the imagination of NFL scouts.
Ed Thompson of Scout.com reports that the Atlanta Falcons will bring Georgetown defensive end Ataefiok Etukeren in for a private workout. The three-year Patriot League starter played in 32 college games, racked up 82 tackles, amassed eight sacks, and defensed four passes.
Ataefiok Etukeren will meet with Falcons this week.
