Steve Wyche of NFL.com reports that the Atlanta Falcons have signed second-round safety William Moore (Missouri) to a four-year contract.
Moore (6-0, 221) was a two-year starter for Mizzou and was named second-team All-American in 2007. During his four-year career, Moore totaled 284 tackles and 11 interceptions. Though he is expected to compete with second-year safety Thomas DeCoud for the Falcons' vacant strong safety starting job, Moore has the versatility to be used all over the secondary.
Financial terms were not disclosed.
Moore is the seventh of the Falcons' eight picks in the 2009 NFL Draft to come to terms on a contract, with first-round defensive tackle Peria Jerry the lone unsigned pick.
The Falcons open training camp next Friday.
