Atlanta Falcons Pro Bowl wide receiver Roddy White signs six-year contract extension.

The Atlanta Falcons and Pro Bowl wide receiver Roddy White have agreed on a six-year contract extension worth $50 million dollars, with $18.6 million dollars guaranteed.

A former first-round pick (27th overall) by the Falcons in the 2005 NFL Draft, White was set to earn $2.28 million dollars in the final year of his rookie contract. Talks on a new contract took place throughout the off-season, but as training camp neared, talks seemingly broke down, resulting in White working out on his own in Alabama while the rest of his teammates reporting to Flowery Branch.

White has never missed a game during his four-year career and is coming off back-to-back seasons with 80+ receptions, 1,200+ yards and 6+ touchdowns. Last season, White set career-highs with 88 receptions, a franchise-record 1,382 yards and 7 touchdowns, earning his first trip to the Pro Bowl.

White also added 11 receptions for 84 yards in the Falcons' 30-24 loss to the Arizona Cardinals in the Wild Card round of the 2008 NFL Playoffs.
