Biography:
Named head coach on January 9, 2004 after spending the last seven years with the 49ers (1997-2003). Mora served as defensive coordinator for San Francisco for the past five seasons (1999-2003) after joining the 49ers as defensive backs coach (1997-98).

Before heading to San Francisco, Mora was secondary coach for the Saints. During his five-year tenure in New Orleans (1992-96), the team twice led the NFL in fewest passing yards allowed (1992-93).

In 1985, Mora joined the San Diego Chargers in their pro personnel department before being named a defensive assistant in the secondary from 1986-88. He became the Chargers defensive backs coach in 1989 and served in that capacity for three seasons.
