| Strong, quick player with a non-stop motor and relentless pursuit...Making the transition back to a conventional defensive end in new 4-3 scheme after playing the last two seasons in 3-4 alignment...Prides himself on playing both the pass and run with equal effeciency and has the fourth-most tackles of any defensive end over the last two seasons with 191...Dependable player who has never missed a game in five seasons (80 games) and has a streak of 64 straight starts (since 2000), entering the 2004 season...Eclipsed 100 tackles for the first time in his career with a career-high 104 stops to lead all NFL defensive ends in 2002...Became only the second player in team history to record back-to-back double-digit sack seasons with 12.0 and 10.5, respectively in 2001-02...Already stands in eighth place on the clubs all-time sack list with 34.0 in only five seasons...Enjoyed break out season in 2001 as he posted a career and team-high 12 sacks, the fifth highest total in the NFC...It was the most sacks by a Falcons player since DE Chuck Smith tallied 12 in 1997...Had a stretch of seven straight games with at least a 0.5 sack...Earned starting left defensive end spot with departure of Smith and Lester Archambeau in 2000. |
