Falcons Trade Laurent Robinson

FLOWERY BRANCH - The Atlanta Falcons announced today that they have traded third-year wide receiver Laurent Robinson to the St. Louis Rams.

Robinson, 23, was a third-round draft choice (75th) overall) in 2007 and had a solid rookie season, catching 37 passes for 437 yards and a touchdown.

In 2008, Robinson slid down the Falcons' depth chart, appearing in just 6 games and making 5 receptions for 52 yards, with none coming after Week 3.

Atlanta hasn't acquired any additional draft picks for Robinson, but have instead swapped fifth- and sixth-round picks with the Rams.

In the fifth round, the Falcons have moved up from the 160th overall choice to the 138th choice, an increase of 22 spots. In the sixth round, the Falcons have moved from the 196th overall choice to the 176th overall choice, an increase of 20 spots in the 2009 NFL Draft.
